Comparison methodology

Hoursmith comparisons are dated, source-led, and written to help a buyer choose—even when the better choice is another product. Last updated 18 August 2026.

Source selection

Material competitor claims come from the competitor's current official pricing, product, help, API, mobile-app, or security pages. Search results and directories may help locate a source, but they are not treated as the evidence. Hoursmith facts come from shipped code, tests, public documentation, and the current pricing configuration.

Price normalization

Monthly and annual billing are kept separate. An annual effective monthly figure is the annual total divided by 12; it is never presented as a month-to-month price. Per-seat totals multiply the public seat price by the stated team size. Taxes, regional pricing, promotions, negotiated plans, payment-processing charges, and optional add-ons are excluded unless a comparison says otherwise.

Capability verification

A feature is marked available only when the official source or shipped product confirms it. Core task management is separated from advanced planning: boards, lists, dates, priorities, estimates, tags, comments, attachments, and task timers are not collapsed into Gantt charts, dependencies, resource planning, recurring tasks, or custom workflows.

Dates and maintenance

Each comparison displays a last-checked date. Material claims are reviewed when a source changes, a correction arrives, or the page is meaningfully updated. A visible date is evidence of the last review, not a promise that a third party has made no change since then.

Commercial interest

Hoursmith publishes these comparisons and sells one of the products being compared. That is a commercial interest. The pages therefore include reasons to choose either product, avoid manufactured scores, and link readers to primary sources so the facts can be checked independently.

Corrections

Send the page URL, disputed statement, and an official source to hi@hoursmith.app. We review substantiated corrections and update the visible checked date when a material claim changes.
